Indirect benefits are provided to the farmer and his family through a loan waiver. A loan waiver is a loan taken by the farmer from the bank. The loan waiver is provided to the farmer and his family members. The loan waiver is not less than the minimum support price of the crops.

Loan waiver for farmers is a scheme that helps to increase the income of farmers. The benefit of this scheme is that the government takes care of the interest of the farmer and the beneficiary is not required to repay the loan amount.

In the present Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, the loan amount is waived and the farmer is not required to pay the principal amount. The benefit is transferred to the account of the farmer.

Under the present scheme, the maximum loan waiver amount is Rs. 1.5 lakh and it is applicable for the crops grown during the crop season of 2019-20.

The loan waiver amount is decided based on the total area of the land owned by the farmer and the total area of the land which is used for the cultivation of crops.
